You must see Christian Siriano’s collection in New York Fashion Week!

New York Fashion Week shifted into high gear as Christian Siriano unveiled his Fall/Winter 2025 collection, turning the industrial Chelsea venue into a glamorous runway. The celebrated designer took fashion enthusiasts on an exciting show where the sleek lines of luxury cars merged with haute couture, creating one of the week’s most talked-about runway experiences.

This time, automotive design and high fashion came together

Siriano’s personal connection to automobiles – a passion shared with his father – fueled this season’s creative direction. Rather than leaning into the traditionally masculine associations of car culture, the designer reimagined automotive elements through a distinctly feminine lens.

“The lines of a car to me look like the lines of a corset,” Siriano explained backstage as per the Independent. This unexpected parallel became the foundation for a collection that featured structured silhouettes with dramatic curves reminiscent of classic sports cars.

The runway itself reinforced this vision, with models walking past elegant rose beds and circling a striking red and black Toyota prominently displayed as the centerpiece. The statement was clear: this collection celebrated the intersection of mechanical precision and feminine glamour.

Engineering fashion: from tire tracks to evening wear

The technical inspiration behind the pieces was evident throughout the show. Jersey fabrics manipulated to resemble oil slicks shimmered under the spotlights, while intricate embroidery patterns mirrored tire tracks across gowns and separates. Bell-bottomed trousers featured edging that cleverly mimicked the texture of tire treading – a subtle nod to functionality transformed into high fashion.

“I was like, who doesn’t love that iconic, sexy red car?” Siriano mused. “But who doesn’t love that iconic, sexy red dress? And how do they kind of go together?”

This question was answered dramatically when longtime Siriano muse Coco Rocha commanded the runway in a black tuxedo blazer mini dress with a striking red silk drape cascading down one leg – the garment’s color palette perfectly matching the showcase vehicle nearby.

Inclusive luxury for all bodies

Staying true to the inclusive approach that has defined his brand, Siriano presented his automotive-inspired vision on models of all sizes and genders. Male models strutted confidently in glossy cropped jackets paired with wide-leg pants, often with bare torsos adding a sensual contrast to the structured outerwear.

The designer’s commitment to body positivity – a hallmark that has made him a favorite among celebrities of diverse body types – was evident in the thoughtful construction of each piece across the size spectrum.

“Over the years, as my body has changed, Christian has always been supportive and had something fabulous for me to wear,” actress Laverne Cox told reporters. “He has such a diverse range as a designer.”

Star-studded front row fuels excitement

The collection drew a range of celebrities, with Katie Holmes, Whoopi Goldberg, Julianne Hough, and Tiffany Haddish leading the front row. Singer Adam Lambert arrived moments before the show began, sporting Siriano’s dark brown longline blazer coat.

“The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Bronwyn Newport, wearing a baby pink tulle creation from Siriano’s previous collection, described the show as the designer’s finest yet. “I wanted every look,” she enthused afterward.

A Red Carpet finale

The show culminated in a dramatic finale set to violin melodies, as models showcased evening gowns worthy of Hollywood’s most prestigious red carpets – fitting for a designer who recently published “Christian Siriano: The New Red Carpet,” and famously dressed Billy Porter in a revolutionary velvety tuxedo ball gown for the 2019 Oscars.

The closing sequence featured transparent abstract corseted gowns, with four models pausing dramatically in front of the Toyota before making their final walk – the perfect fusion of automotive precision and red carpet drama.

Beyond the fashion, Siriano demonstrated his commitment to giving back, raising funds for those affected by the Los Angeles wildfires through painting sales and ticket proceeds from the show.

As the audience departed – many already mentally adding pieces to their wishlists – it was clear that Siriano had successfully reimagined automotive inspiration through his uniquely inclusive lens, proving once again why he remains one of American fashion’s most innovative and accessible luxury designers.
